The UK’s nuclear industry is facing its biggest challenge in decades. Decommissioning and new build projects need skilled graduates to meet workforce demand and address critical skills shortages across the industry. Energus are working closely with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and employers across the nuclear sector to develop the workforce of tomorrow. We manage and facilitate a number of training opportunities; including Apprenticeship and Graduate programmes.
Innovative and unique, nucleargraduates is like no other graduate scheme. It provides opportunities to those who take them and challenges graduates every day to develop themselves into well-rounded, competent individuals who will become future leaders across the industry. Established by the NDA in 2008 the programme is now managed by Energus and sponsored by 11 organisations. Sponsors play a key role in the attraction, selection and recruitment of graduates. The training and Corporate Social Responsibility element, the “Footprints” programme sets us aside from other graduate schemes.
In 2017 the Programme received the Princess Royal Training Award and in November 2018 we won the IChemE Global Award for Training and Development. In 2018 we were also shortlisted in the In-House Recruitment Awards and the Target Jobs National Graduate Awards for our On-Boarding strategy. Our graduates have also been shortlisted in the UK Skills Awards every year since 2015.
